Brighter

We’re not quite there yet, but the fact that it is still just about daylight when I am locking up and heading for my train at the end of my working day is bringing me a little bit of joy. I’ll be even happier when I’m arriving home in daylight after my train journey. My days feel so short in the winter. I am often cold from waiting for trains and the darkness makes me want to hibernate.

Lighter nights may give me the impetus to do a little more after getting home. Currently I eat my evening meal as I get in, rinse out my coffee flask from the day and then pretty much just go off to bed. There’s a couple of days where I will watch something on the TV with my mum and Thursdays are dedicating to packing for the weekend, but even Fridays are pretty much pizza, quick catch up of whatever streaming series we are currently watching and then off to bed to sleep of the week.

If I could hibernate I almost certain would. I practically do anyway. Even when there isn’t a world wide pandemic I’m rarely very social between December and about March. (I’m not that social anyway, but much less so when it’s cold and dark.) The lighter evenings are causing me to think about warmer weather and the prospect of days out for adventures and chips!

Bring it on!
