Tickets Please!

Ticket buying shouldn’t be so traumatic. But it is.

This morning I spent two hours wrestling with the ticketmaster site before I could purchase fan club presale tickets for No Such Thing As A Fish. Normally I wouldn’t touch ticketmaster with a barge pole, their monopoly on ticket sales, the often astronomical fees and their ridiculous notion of “dynamic” (surge) prices are more than enough reasons to refuse to give them my money. However today they were the only option. Insanely the link refused to work on most browsers and only seemed to connect when the incognito function was switched on.

When I buy tickets for things without presale codes I prefer to deal directly with a venue wherever possible. This often means lower transaction feeds, a friendlier service and can even mean better seats! Plus a lot of smaller venues benefit more from you going directly to them.

But for now, I have my precious NSTAAF tickets, even though they are electronic ones, the extra charges weren’t too bad in the end and I get to see my four favourite nerds live next autumn.
