Information About International Pop Overthrow Liverpool 2026

International Pop Overthrow Liverpool is happening later this month. It will run for eight days between 24th and 31st May. (Sunday to Sunday).
You can find more about the event at the official website and the full schedule is available here. (Note – the schedule may change right up till the last minute, check the boards outside the venues on the day so see any changes.)
TIP: Add the link to your mobile home screen so you can access it easily. There are also free programmes available at the Merch table in the Cavern Club and usually near the stage at the Pub.
About the venues – The event is held at the Cavern Club (the Live Lounge stage at the back) and The Cavern Pub which is across the road from the Club.
Entrance to the Pub is free but there is a general door charge to get into the Club. General Admission is currently £6 at that let’s you stay in the club as long as you like providing you don’t leave. If you plan to pop to the pub for a band or two, or go out to get something to eat, and then go back into the club there is an all day and night pass which is £8.50 (I think this a hand stamp so be careful not to wash it off.) More information and child rates/restrictions can be found at the Cavern Club website.
Sadly the Cavern Club is now completely cashless so if you don’t have a card or contactless payment device you have no other way of getting in or getting drinks etc. I am not sure if this applies to the Pub as well as it doesn’t seem to specify on the website.
Both venues have wifi, and if I recall correctly from last year it’s pretty good. There is no phone/mobile data signal in the Club, and it may be limited in the Pub too as it is also below ground.
Things to note –
- The Merch table is in the Cavern Club Live Lounge. I’m going to presume the merch table is cash only. There are ATMs at a few banks a couple of streets away from venues. The ATM on Mathew will charge you for making a withdrawal, taking the few minutes to walk a little further will save you that charge. If you are seeing a band in the Pub they may have some merch on them but there’s no specific merch table there.
- Sunday 24th and Monday 25th may be very busy in the city due to football and the Bank Holiday.
- Friday and Saturday will also be very busy. Mathew Street is a popular Stag and Hen Party destination and the partying usually starts very early on both of these days.
- There are lots of lovely places to eat in the city that will suit most budgets, including plenty of Greggs! Ask around, particularly if you know people who have attended the event before – everyone has favourite eateries and will be happy to recommend places to you.
TIP: Remember to build time for food into your schedule, you are going to need to keep your energy levels up!
See you there!
