How I Try To Keep Calm and Centred
A few years ago I began to make simple elastic bracelets from wooden beads. I found it very therapeutic. I made lots of them. From there I started making charm bracelets and other jewellery.
My skills are still very basic but the act of making things, working out how to put things together and getting to a reasonably good finished product keeps me very centred. I get frustrated but not in an angry way. I persevere and find ways around things that I can’t quite get right. After a difficult day or a hard week, I will take time out to make something. I’ve almost gone full circle as I now make smaller bead bracelets with names, quotes and song titles on them.
When I am creating things I get into the moment and the world around melts away, it’s a good feeling.
