A Plaque For Sister Rosetta Tharpe

On the way home from Liverpool yesterday I took a short detour on the way to the tram stop to see the newly unveiled plaque to the Godmother of Rock and Roll, Sister Rosetta Tharpe. The plaque is outside Manchester Central, now an exhibition centre but in 1964 it was a major railway station, and is to commemorate the artist performing on the Blues and Gospel Train in 1964.
