How I Wasted A Week Off

I have to confess that the title of this post is a little misleading. I don’t really think I have wasted this week off but I certainly haven’t done things I thought I would get done in the time given.

The plan was for days out, partly because we hadn’t really looked into going away but mostly because we don’t really have a lot of money at the moment. What actually happened was probably far less anxiety-inducing on my part.

We had tickets to see Nik Kershaw at the start of the week, the gig was brilliant but I did get overly anxious about actually getting there. This was mostly irrational as I wasn’t going alone. Basically, once I was out and had eaten I was fine and had a great time.

The rest of the week has mainly been spent sleeping or watching films/TV. I have made a few things for the Etsy shop, but mostly that has been wiring up glitterball beads for the Strictly Inspired earrings. (They are already beginning to sell, so I’m trying to stay ahead of things there.)

We went out for lunch with friends on Thursday which was lovely, it was really nice to catch up. However, our plans to go out for the day on Friday were scuppered by us staying up very late Thursday night to binge-watch the entire Ahsoka series on Disney+. We didn’t actually get out of bed on Friday until the afternoon.

Today is our last day off together. I am writing blog posts and will later be tidying up my stuff ready to go home to my parent’s house tomorrow. Stuart is currently constructing something upstairs for his model railway stuff. This was pretty much always the plan for today and it feels good, very domesticated.

Have I wasted this week off? No. I have caught up on sleep, had long discussions about anything and everything with Stuart, and simply relaxed (as much as I ever relax). It may not have been the week I thought it was going to be, but it has been a good week.
