If you follow my instagram account you will have seen the handiwork of Freccles (or Friends of Eccles Station to give them their full title) as they maintain the pretty flower beds on the platforms which definitely add colour to grey mornings!
This morning I noticed they had added plaques to the fence at the far end of Platform One. I leave from the opposite platform so I wondered up for a look and snapped some photos. The plaques are all of tickets to and from long lost stations in the area, with only Eccles and Patricroft still in existence.
