My 2022 In Summary

Looking back on my social media to summarise my year it is mostly, thankfully, positive. This has served as a timely reminder that good times happen even when my brain tries to tell me it’s all been a bit “meh.”

I did a fair bit of socialising this year which seems unusual for me. There was a meal with
Stuart’s bike club, a wonderful surprise visit from Rob and Gemma just before a last minute trip to their Carry On Event it Watford with the very awesome Ellie and Erica, and more recently a meal with Paula and Mark plus a visit from Erica and Sid.

Event-wise it was still quite subdued. There was the afore mentioned Carry On Day, and Collectomania in Birmingham, the latter being Stuart’s first Con. It won’t be his last! Oh and we saw that nice Mr Palin talking about North Korea and Iraq.

Musically speaking it was quiet too. For my first post-pandemic gig we saw Cutting Crew and Go West which was fun. The biggest musical highlight was the return of my beloved International Pop Overthrow Liverpool event! It was so good to see everyone and introduce them to Stuart.

There were some fabulous days out. I got far too excited about the Model Railway Village thing in Southport and spending time sat watching the film crew shooting a scene for The Bay was an unexpected treat on our day out in Morecambe.

I celebrated my 50th birthday with a trip to the Science and Industry Museum and finally got a replica of the Dan Dare tshirt (as worn by Michael Palin in Around The World In 80 Days) that I have wanted since the late 80s!

Work-wise we won a Mystery Shopper award and got a new shutter, finally! I also missed this year’s International Beatle Week as I finally succumbed to Covid, not a fun experience at all.

I have also made lots of jewellery this year. I’m very pleased with some of the stuff I have made and other people seem to like some of it too. I’m writing this entry before Christmas Day, but I am very much looking forward to spending time during the last week of the year playing with new ideas for earrings, necklaces and bracelets.

Here’s more adventures, good times and other stuff in 2023!
