Learning New Skills
I currently have time on my hands. Actually, it still feels like I don’t. I fill the days with housework, jewellery making and catching up on reading and telly. However, I do have lots of things I want to have a go at.
There are various jewellery techniques I want to try, but I have a reasonable set of skills to fall back on there if it doesn’t go well. I make a point of not setting myself up to fail in these things, so I wait till I am in the right mindset that it doesn’t matter if I’m not very good.
Beyond the jewellery, I have already had a go at painting rocks, decorating trinket boxes, making traveller’s notebook covers and making trinket shelves out of small crates. So what’s next?
I have begun to try my hand at embroidery; it’s early days, but I’m quite pleased with the results so far. I have also purchased glass paints and fabric paints to experiment with, and at some point, I will get my teeny tiny sewing machine out to make some tiny fabric things.
