Creating Space

I’m in the process of moving in with my other half. I spend most of my time at his house anyway. A little while ago, we decided that I would have the little room upstairs as a craft room, and as a place to keep most of my stuff, my clothes etc… I should point out that once the move is sorted I will also have space in the rest of the house, but the little room is going to be my own space.

For various reasons, I am prone to creating doom piles, and my room at the family homestead is chaotic to say the least. I finally feel able to tackle said chaos, albeit in small doses. My family have been incredibly patient over the years, and it feels good that I am in a place where I can bring some order to it all, hopefully. I say hopefully, as this is just the beginning, I’m really hoping not to lose momentum.

I now have some lovely shelves and boxes that fit those shelves perfectly. The moment the first box slotted into place something clicked in my head, and I felt like the whole process was actually doable.

It’s still a big task. I shall be ordering the rest of the boxes I need soon and more shelving bits. I need to start sorting through my clothes and being ruthless about it. I’m never going to fit back into some of my favourite things and it’s time to send them to charity shops so someone else can have the benefit of them.

I am toying with the idea of popping some kind of comfy seat in there to create a bit of a reading nook. Space is tight though, so we’ll have to see how that goes.

I am looking forward to it being finished, then I can spend time in my little haven.
