Embroidering Clothes
One of the crafts I have been dabbling in is embroidery I don’t claim to be all that good at it, but once I felt I was doing well enough with a few basics I decided to decorate my old denim jacket. I had already added some material under a back panel to strengthen it due to a couple of holes.
I wanted to decorate the back with a Steal Your Face logo. Initially I was going to embroider the whole thing but in the end I stitched the outline in black and filled the colours in with fabric paint pens. I used the same technique for the dancing bears. The lyrics are embroidered using a ,multi-coloured thread. On the front I added more painted colour sections and odd bits of embroidery, including some blanket stitches on the pockets and collar.
Egged on by being pleased with the jacket results I embroidered flowers and hearts onto some jeans. I had previous decorated them with patches but all bar two on the back pockets fell off. I added some embellishments to those and then added colourful cross stitches on the pockets and across the back. I love the result and am very comfortable wearing them out and about.
I’m saving the jacket for warmer weather and special occasions, it’s wearing a bit thin in places and it a tad delicate.

And here’s a bonus beanie hat I experimented on with dancing bears and multicoloured thread.
